Yes, stolen cars can be impounded in story mode. but i would advise you to use the characters' default vehicles when triggering missions as story mode is notorious for purchased and stolen cars (modded or not) going missing forever.. Do you guys think we can costumize stolen cars? i hope we can't because it would be more interesting to buy a own car and costumize it and not just steal it and costumize it.. If an owned vehicle is lost, stolen, or abandoned, it will be impounded. to retrieve impounded vehicles the character must pay a fine of $250 and collect the vehicle. cars in grand theft auto can be customized at any of the lost santos customs shops, each of which is marked on the map.. If you park a car in the garage, it will be saved there. your standard car will always be available nearby if it is not in the garage. parking in the garage will save that car and you can access there unless you left it somewhere else. taken from the manual: player characters can own any vehicle in [gta v] as long they have appropriate storage.
